Solo Performance: International stage experience as soloist and in opera scenes for crowds of thousands in Italy, Germany and Switzerland with the Sessione Senese per l'Arte e Musica, the Spoleto Music Festival and the Accademia Chigiana under the tutelage of Shirley Verrett. Has performed in operas in both San Francisco and New York City and as a soloist throughout Europe and the United States.
Choral Experience: AGMA soprano with the San Francisco Symphony Chorussince 2006, including the 3 Grammy award winning recording of Mahler 8, in 2010. Extra Chorus at the San Francisco Opera for productions of Mefistofele (2013), Verdi's Requiem (2013), Les Troyens (2015), Turandot (2017), and Romeo et Juliette (coming September 2019). Church choir experience includes the San Francisco Swedenborgian Church, St. Mary's Cathedral Choir of San Francisco, Calvary Presbyterian (SF) and All Saint's Episcopal in NYC under Dr. Gail Archer.
Section Leader: Draws on experience as a concertmistress to guide and aid soprano section singers in following conductor's instructions, be precise in pitch, rhythm and diction and to understand volume, breath markings, and phrasing.
Musicianship: Advanced sight-reader due to the fact that she is also a professional violinist. Was the only singer to take advanced musicianship in her class at SFCM. Recognized for sensitive musical interpretation and for bringing people in her audience to tears on a regular basis (in the good sense!)
Early Music: Sang (and played violin) in both the Manhattan School of Music's Early Music Ensemble under Kenneth Cooper and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music's Early Music Ensemble. Experienced in reading square notation plainchant and non-metered early music. Has also studied historical dance and created period costuming due to her great love of medieval and Renaissance history.
Languages: Fluent in English, Italian and German. Conversational in French and Gaelic. Sings in Latin, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Greek, Hebrew, and many other languages. Well-versed in IPA.
Other Talents: World Championship Irish Dancer. Studied ballet, ballroom, swing, modern, hip-hop, jazz and historical dance. Choreographed two operas and a musical as well as incidental pieces at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Known as a Jane-of-all-Trades for her ability to sing, play, dance, sew costumes, design and organize props and coordinate the administration for musical productions. Girl Scout Gold Awardee. Instructor of both English and Western riding.
